Isabella, Queen of England

Isabella, daughter of the French king Philip IV of France, married the newly crowned Edward II in January, 1308 at the age of twelve. Throughout her lifetime, she was highly regarded for her diplomatic skills, intelligence, and beauty. She was also known to have a fiery temper and in the later years of her husband's reign, well earned her sobriquet as the "She-Wolf" of France.
